Veneers

The Preparation

During your second visit, your dentist will prepare your teeth. This involves removing about a ½ millimeter of enamel from your tooth’s surface, which is about the thickness of a veneer. This allows for all of your teeth to be even and consistent after the veneer is placed over it. Your dentist will also make an impression of your tooth which will be sent to a dental laboratory to construct your veneer. This construction process usually takes 2-4 weeks to complete.

The Application

On your final visit, your veneer will be permanently placed or bonded to your tooth. During this process, your dentist will make any necessary changes to ensure that the coloring and fit of the veneer is just right. Then, your tooth will be etched and the veneer is put into place. The final step involves an ultraviolet light to harden the veneer and bond it into place.
